Research & innovation
Turning biological knowledge into agricultural opportunity.
Innovation matters when it can reach the people working in fields, farms and production facilities. Halways builds on its university origins to connect biological research with agricultural products, education and conversations about practical use.

A connection to UPM technology
Our relationship with Universiti Putra Malaysia is rooted in research commercialisation. Halways developed through UPM’s InnoHub programme, which supports the translation of university innovation towards the market.
In January 2026, Putra Science Park reported a licensing agreement with Halways for an organic-food production and processing technology developed through Prof. Dr. Shuhaimi Mustafa’s research. The announcement describes an integrated approach spanning agriculture, livestock and aquaculture under the THOHIRA name.

Research to application.
Halways’ InnoHub origins connect the university and agricultural communities.
Working with biology
Our products draw on the role of microorganisms in agricultural systems. The portfolio includes biological crop protection, aquaculture synbiotics, biofloc support and poultry probiotics.
These are distinct applications with different purposes. Understanding the production setting, the product and its intended use is an essential starting point for any discussion about biological technology.
- Crop production: biological approaches to plant and root-zone management.
- Aquaculture: synbiotics and support for biological production systems.
- Poultry: probiotics as part of a considered production approach.
Knowledge is part of the transfer
Research does not become useful simply by leaving a laboratory. Producers also need clear explanations, opportunities to ask questions and an understanding of how a technology relates to their existing practices.
Halways connects its product work with workshops, seminars and technical discussion. Our education activities bring researchers, practitioners and agricultural communities into the same conversation.
Start with a practical question
We welcome enquiries from industry partners, researchers and producers exploring biological approaches. Tell us about your production system, the challenge you are investigating and the knowledge you need.
That context helps us discuss relevant products, learning needs and possible collaboration. It also keeps the conversation grounded in your operation, with realistic expectations and attention to the conditions that influence outcomes.
